Still Life and similar themes – Oil on Canvas
I really like still life, but it took a special event to get me going on them. The eight square paintings in the two top rows were painted for the Ann Arbor Art Center’s “30 x 30 Show,” a 2012 youth program fundraiser. We thirty selected artists each had to do thirty works in fifty days flat.
That challenge led to these small subjects. Two of these works, painted 46 years apart, share the same subject: the violin assembled for me by my older brother when I was ten years old.
